The bulk wine market is large with approximately 4.0 billion litres* exported each year. In total, it’s estimated that 6.6 - 10.0 billion litres of wine is traded in bulk annually, at least a quarter of the world’s wine production. In addition, grape must, juice and concentrate are traded in large volumes, yet go largely unreported.
Until now buyers and sellers have connected and completed trades either directly or through wine brokers based within regions using conventional communication.
VINEX is introducing innovative scalable technology to connect buyers and sellers within and across markets, providing a more efficient, functional and secure system for the negotiation and sampling of bulk wine and other grape derived products.
Multi-lingual, across regions and markets
The Exchange is diverse, operating in multiple languages and is accessible to all individuals and organisations in, or related to, the wine industry.
VINEX enables the trade of bulk wine, must and juice volumes, along with grape juice concentrate and wines delivered in Bulk to Bottle^ packaged quantities.
Who makes up the market?
Sellers
Sellers include cooperatives, independent producers, wine brokers and contract winemakers. Members range in size (volume capacity) from large to small, are located within regions or across multiple regions and either occasionally or frequently trade bulk wine.
Buyers
Buyers include exporters, importers, bottling facilities, retailers and other wine producers. They also range in volume turnover, and are located in established or emerging wine regions and markets.
Fairness in trading
To ensure equality and fairness in trading VINEX protects the identity of buyers and sellers during the listing, negotiation and sampling process.
Member profile
Each member is assigned a star ranking which indicates their 
level of trading activity. VINEX regularly reviews the rankings to ensure they correctly reflect each member’s current trading status. In addition, an abbreviated profile displays the member's category of membership level, country of origin, their number of listings and completed trades along with contracted payment terms (Cash, Docs or Credit terms). Regional Managers are available to assist with more information and details on the profile of VINEX members.

^Bulk to Bottle: Any completed trade for despatch as Bulk to Bottle enables both parties to subsequently negotiate the supply of contracted bulk in finished packaged stock to an agreed specification. The costs of packaging materials, bottling, documentation and delivery terms are not included in this bulk trade.
