VINEX is an independent web-based trading exchange owned by Vin-Exchange Group Limited (CN 494552) with offices at Level 2, 1-5 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5PA; and is supported by in-market representatives across regions and markets.
Formed in 2014, the software developers consulted senior wine industry specialists to develop plans and with private investors built a proto-type to test and validate the system. In 2015 the complete system that's accessible now was developed using proprietary technology to integrate the unique processes and security required of a comprehensive trading exchange.
The Exchange ownership is independent and provides business to business services to members, either individuals or organisations in the wine industry for the purposes of trading and market reporting of bulk wine and grape derived product (including grape juice, must, concentrate, fortified and spirit).
VINEX is a new generation digitised version of the industry’s current conventional trading processes. By harnessing powerful web-based price-matching and state-of-the-art technology VINEX has developed a comprehensive and secure Exchange accessible to all in the industry with data connectivity.

Independent integrity
VINEX is independent. The company is not owned or aligned to any other company or organisation in the wine industry. Nor does it produce or take ownership of wine parcels. Being independent gives VINEX the ability and integrity to provide customers with an objective and trustworthy service, including in-market consultation, real-time electronic trading and comprehensive market reporting.
Ensuring legal, ethical and fair trading
VINEX ensures legal, ethical and fairness in trading for all customers, large or small. In addition to a verification process on registration, members must agree to comply with the Trading Rules of the Exchange. VINEX protects the identity of all members, providing anonymity to ensure each is treated equally and fairly.
Finally, for the benefit of all parties, completed trades are subject to Clearing & Settlement approval prior to the delivery of a Sale and Purchase Contract.
Secure technology
The VINEX web-based platform utilises the latest, transactional technology to ensure integrity and fairness in trading. It communicates using 256 bit SHA-2 secured SSL protocols applying a hybrid cryptosystem that utilises both asymmetric and symmetric encryption.
The system has sophisticated load-sharing capabilities and an in-built triple redundancy service across international locations provided by one of the world’s largest hosting providers. This architecture ensures real-time connectivity, along with stable and reliable access from any location, across multiple devices.
Trading on the Exchange can be completed using the popular web browsers or by downloading the VINEX Android or Apple App.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
VINEX does not trade its own wine, take title over any parcel of wine, nor produce wine or own wine production facilities. VINEX is not aligned to any wine broking business. VINEX does not guarantee the quality or winemaking compliance of a listed product, but does provide a comprehensive sampling process and analytical services to members. Any wine listing making quality certification claims must provide evidence of that certification for verification before a trade can be approved. VINEX does not facilitate the sale of wine to consumers, nor deliver wine samples to persons under the legal drinking age.
